MAN ACC– USED OF KILLING AND DISMEMBERING PARENTS WAIVES PRELIMINARY HEARING
The man who prosecutors say killed his parents and then dismembered them has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The case of Joel Michael Guy J. will proceed before the Knox County Grand Jury. The 28-year-old Baton Rouge college student is accused of killing Joel and Lisa Guy at their Goldenview Lane home sometime during the 2016 Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Both of Guy’s parents had multiple stab wounds and police found remains in different parts of the home. Some remains had been dissolved in an acid-type solution. Guy was arrested in Louisiana and then extradited back to Knox County.
