MAN AIRLIFTED TO ERLANGER AFTER MOTORCYCLE COLLIDES WITH DEER

On June 1, 2025, at 2:23 p.m., a single-vehicle crash occurred on Northside Drive in Crossville, Cumberland County, Tennessee. The vehicle, a red 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 50-year-old Ralph David Kirk from Rockwood, was traveling east when it collided with a deer crossing the road.  The motorcycle sustained disabling damage across all areas, primarily from the front-end impact with the deer.
Kirk was wearing a helmet but suffered a suspected serious injury. He was found awake but slightly confused and covered in blood at the scene. He was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital by EMS for further evaluation. A witness reported seeing the motorcycle roll three or four times with the driver still on it. The vehicle was moved from the point of impact before police arrived.
No alcohol or drug use was suspected, and no violations were noted. The motorcycle was towed due to damage.
