MAN ARRESTED AFTER THEFT AT TWO LOWE’S LOCATIONS
On May 21, 2025, Officer Corey Freeman responded to a theft report at Lowe’s in Crossville, where he met with an Asset Protection representative. The representative reported two theft incidents involving Maddox Davis, who had recently been arrested for theft at a Lowe’s in Harriman.
The first incident occurred on April 25, 2025, when Davis was recorded entering the store, selecting a Gatorade and a 10-piece Kobalt socket set ($21.98), and a 55-piece Kobalt tool set ($174). At self-checkout, he scanned only the Gatorade and the 10-piece set, with the screen displaying $26.56, indicating a ticket-switching theft of $152.02.
The second incident on May 9, 2025, followed a similar pattern: Davis selected a $174 Kobalt tool kit and PB Blaster, but the self-checkout total showed $16.42, resulting in a theft of $163.02. Lowe’s is seeking restitution for both incidents.
Officer Freeman signed two theft warrants for Davis, who was located and taken into custody by Patrolman Beard. Video evidence of both incidents was provided on burned CDs and placed into temporary evidence at the Police Department.
