MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING HIGH SPEED CHASE IN TWO COUNTIES

A man is facing numerous charges after a police chase that spanned two counties late last night. Authorities say the chase started in Anderson County when Oak Ridge police officers spotted a wanted 29-year-old Dustin Sheehy off of South Illinois Avenue. Sheehy reportedly sped off in a vehicle he was in and hit an Oak Ridge police cruiser in the process. Sheehy crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic multiple times and reached a speed of 90 miles per hour. The chase ended on I-40 in Knox County near West Hills. A K-9 officer searched the vehicle and police found 6.5 grams of methamphetamine, 5 syringes, clear baggies and 6 cell phones with multiple batteries. A passenger in the vehicle, Renee White, was detained by police. Officers say Sheehy had multiple warrants in Anderson County. He was arrested for felony evading arrest, aggravated assault and driving on a revoked license.
