MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER WITH A PICKAXE

Jeinson Hernandez-Moran, 26, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after the Knoxville Police Department claims he attacked a man with a pickaxe in West Knoxville in the area of Morrell Road.

The KPD said a witness woke up and found Hernandez-Moran hitting the victim many times in the head with a pickaxe, and then running. Hernandez-Moran would later turn himself in and was booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility, and the victim was taken to UT Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The KPD says that Hernandez-Moran and the victim knew each other.
