A Jasper, Tennessee man has been charged with soliciting sex from a minor in Bledsoe County. Deputies say 52-year-old Anthony Pippin allegedly contacted the mother of the minor inquiring about items she had for sale on social media. Pippin then allegedly responded wanting to know if he was talking to the woman’s daughter. After a couple short conversations thinking he was corresponding with the minor, officers say Pippin had intentions on forming a relationship. Authorities worked with the mother by supervising the conversations and setting up a meeting between the minor and Pippin In southern Bledsoe County that would include sexual contact and criminal drug activities. But when Pippin entered into Bledsoe County headed to the fictional address he was given by an officer who was posed as the 16-year-old female, he was met deputies who advised Pippin that he had actually been corresponding with him through FB messenger not the minor. Pippin was arrested and transported to the Bledsoe County jail. The Bledsoe County Sheriff Department warns all parents to monitor the activities of their children on social media. Officers say this case is just an example how easy it is for suspects to lure in unexpecting minors and follow through with the intent of sexual assault or worse.
