MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING CHAINSAWS AND HOUSE PLANTS FROM LOWE’S

On September 13th Officer Jonathan Tollett received a message from a representative for Lowe’s in loss prevention. The representative sent three pictures, two of which featured a male subject and the last was a picture of a yellow Ford F-150 pickup truck with a Mississippi license plate.

The representative said that the male subject in the picture stole two Husqvarna 545 pro chainsaws and five or six hanging plants at around 1:30 p.m. that day.

Later, at around 4:20 p.m. Officer Tollett observed the yellow pickup truck traveling northbound on Main Street near the area of Obed River and made a traffic stop near Mark Auto Sales on Highway 127.

Upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the driver Officer Tollett identified him as Brandon Driver. Officer Tollett showed Driver the picture of the male stealing the chainsaws and asked where the saws were, however Driver refused to tell. He did admit to the deed and was placed under arrest for theft and driving with a suspended license.

The stolen items have not yet been recovered and restitution is owed to Lowe’s.
