MAN ARRESTED WITH DRUGS AND ILLEGAL SHOTGUN IN CROSSVILLE

On July 8, 2025, Deputy Shawn Aytes of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office observed an older model Ford Ranger making an abrupt turn onto Al Goss Road in Crossville, without signaling and accelerating rapidly. The vehicle’s registration plate was obstructed by a fishing magnet, preventing identification.

Despite activating emergency lights and siren, the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Jerrycole Lester Green, failed to stop, continuing at 40 mph before halting at a driveway on Buddy’s Trail. Upon contact, Green admitted to possessing drugs, and a search revealed a green, leafy substance in his pocket and a sawed-off shotgun with an obliterated serial number in his vehicle, illegal due to its barrel length being under 18 inches.

Dispatch confirmed Green’s license was suspended. He was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license, felony evading arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon, and alteration of serial numbers, then transported to the CCSO jail.

The substance and shotgun were logged as evidence, with the vehicle left at the scene per the owner’s request.
