MAN ASSUMES FALSE IDENTITY TO TRY AND GET OUT OF A TICKET
On April 25, 2025, at around 7:52 PM, Deputy Caleb Charles conducted a traffic stop on Highway 127 North for a Black Ford Sedan with no operational taillights. The rear driver-side passenger, initially identifying himself as John Brown, provided a Social Security Number belonging to a deceased person, Harry James.
After obtaining consent from the driver, Deputy Charles searched the vehicle and found a wallet with identification confirming the passenger as Hershell Brown. Due to the false identification, Brown was arrested for Criminal Impersonation, transported to CCSO Intake for booking, and also served a local warrant for child support.
