Officers responded to a residence in Cumberland County Saturday for a female involved in a physical altercation with her boyfriend. The woman stated that she and Lawrence Parks, age 34, had an argument about Parks thinking she had been unfaithful. When the woman went to leave, Parks began to hold her down on the couch by the throat in a strangulating manner and punched her, not allowing her to exit the residence. During the struggle, he also used his thumb to gouge her left eye, leaving it black and swollen. He then picked up an unknown object off a nearby table and struck her leaving a severe head laceration. She was finally able to flee to a neighbor’s house to call 911 and was transported to the hospital.

Lawrence Parks has been arrested.
