MAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ARSON IN KNOXVILLE HOUSE FIRE; 11 PEOPLE ENDANGERED
According to multiple outlets, a 44-year-old man named Diego Julio Pedro has been taken into custody and charged with aggravated arson in connection with a house fire on Stair Drive in Knoxville’s Western Heights neighborhood last month.
According to the Knoxville Fire Department, the incident occurred when Pedro allegedly poured a liquid accelerant on the porch of the home, set it ablaze, and fled the scene; at the time, 11 people were inside the residence.
Fire investigators, working with the Knoxville Police Department, arrested him Thursday night in the Lonsdale area, and the announcement was made on Friday. Separately, a 23-year-old man named John Tory was arrested back in January and faces charges related to a different house fire on Keith Avenue, as reported by the Knoxville Police Department.
