MAN CHARGED WITH DOMESTIC ASSAULT AFTER BYSTANDER CALLS 911

Crossville, TN- On Sunday night around 10:30 PM a woman called dispatch concerning a possible domestic assault. The caller stated she was at Walmart and observed a male subject having very erratic behavior. She claimed he kept going back and forth from the driver’s side to the passenger side. She noticed there was a younger female in the passenger seat and the male kept tugging on her and throwing property outside the vehicle.

The vehicle left and traveled southbound on Main Street. When the vehicle was passing the construction zone, the caller said she noticed the passenger door start to open up. The vehicle pulled into the SK Market where the male approached the passenger side of the vehicle and the female exited from the driver’s side. Both subjects started to travel on foot while arguing.

When the officer arrived the female subject, identified as Brittany Davenport ran toward her. She told the officer that the male was David Brothers and he abruptly parked the vehicle and came to the passenger side and started to grab her by her feet and legs. She said she held onto the steering wheel. He then got on top of her and started to cover her mouth and grabbed her by the throat. She said she was able to free herself and exited the driver’s door.

When talking with David Brothers, he said she attempted to jump from the vehicle due to the fact that he threw out used aluminum foil with narcotic residue and a syringe from the window. The officer confirmed Brothers to be the primary aggressor.

Ms. Davenport was transported to a safe place. David Brothers was arrested for Domestic Assault and Bond Conditions.
