Shortly after 2 this morning, Roane County deputies were patrolling in the slow lane of Interstate 40 westbound at mile marker 344.5 when a vehicle approached at a high rate of speed. Deputies observed the driver behaving in a reckless manner, swerving back and forth between lanes and nearly striking other vehicles. Deputies pulled 47-year-old Thomas Eugene Roberts over just past the 340 mile marker and charged him with driving on a revoked license and reckless driving.
