MAN CITED FOR VANDALISM AFTER FALLING ASLEEP AND CRASHING INTO FENCE IN CROSSVILLE

According to a report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, earlier this month, Dalton Andrew Woody, 29, of Crossville, allegedly fell asleep while driving on Highland Lane. He ran off the roadway into a ditch, overcorrected, and struck a fence and a tree on Highland Lane, causing approximately $900 in damage to the property owner’s fence.

Woody’s passenger was also in the vehicle. Both sustained injuries and were transported by EMS. Multiple alcoholic beverage cans were found at the scene, though Woody denied drinking and claimed they were old. He was unable to provide proof of insurance for the vehicle.

Deputy Holden Atkinson responded to the crash, later citing Woody for misdemeanor vandalism and driving without insurance.
