MAN FINDS BOX ON FIRE IN GARAGE AFTER RECEIVING DEATH THREATS

Cumberland County officers responded to a residence off Buffalo Drive for a possible house fire on Sunday. Upon arrival, officers noticed Dewayne Bolin, raking a cardboard box of dishes out of his garage. The man stated to the officers that he was sitting on his couch when his wife smelled smoke coming from the garage area. When Mr. Bolin opened the garage, he observed a cardboard box that was on fire. Mr. Bolin stated that he grabbed a rake and raked the box that was on fire outside of the garage. He went to retrieve a fire extinguisher from his Jeep when he noticed the driver’s side door was open.

Mr. Bolin was asked if he knew if anyone would want to cause damage to his home. The only person he has had trouble with was his son when they had a falling out about a year ago.

Mr. Bolin also told authorities approximately 6 or 7 months ago that he started to receive death threats and notes.  One note was left inside his garage from an unknown subject stating “I’m going to kill you and your wife”.

This case is currently under investigation.
