MAN IN JAIL AGAIN IN ROCKWOOD AFTER ARRESTED 12 TIMES IN 3 YEARS

A homeless man is back in the Roane County jail who the Rockwood Police Department arrested at least 12 times in the last three years on various charges.
The police report states officers attempted to stop 49-year-old Daniel Joseph Smith as he entered the food pantry parking lot at the corner of Front and Strang Street. He continued near First Baptist Church, where he was apprehended. Police noticed Smith riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road.
A search of Smith reportedly revealed a hypodermic needle in his pocket.
Police say Smith had slurred speech.
Smith was arrested for criminal trespassing and public intoxication.
