MAN SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS IN MONROE COUNTY ON 2ND-DEGREE MURDER CHARGES

A fatal fentanyl transaction has resulted in an eight-year prison sentence for a Monroe County man following a plea agreement in criminal court. Calvin Suttles pleaded guilty on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to facilitation of second-degree murder in connection with the December 2023 overdose death of Larmar Rose. Monroe County Criminal Court Judge Andrew Freiberg ordered Suttles to serve the full eight-year sentence at 100 percent.

The case began on December 10, 2023, when Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an overdose report at a residence on Ridge Road. Investigators subsequently obtained video surveillance showing Suttles and Rose meeting an individual at a Pilot Fuel Station in Madisonville, where Suttles was captured purchasing fentanyl. Suttles later admitted to delivering the drug to Rose, who tragically suffered a fatal overdose within approximately two hours of receiving it. Following the sentencing, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Tenth Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Madisonville Police Department for their collaborative work, emphasizing that the case stands as a sobering reminder of the deadly speed and consequences of fentanyl trafficking.
