MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN BOATING ACCIDENT NEAR OAK RIDGE
The TWRA says a deer hunter was seriously injured after a boating accident on Melton Hill Lake near Oak Ridge Wildlife Management Area yesterday. Officers say 47-year-old Christopher Becker from Bradley County, whose name was drawn to hunt in the wildlife area, was ejected when the boat ran aground near the Freels Bend area in foggy conditions. His son and another hunter who was with him stayed with him until medics arrived. Becker was transported to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of head and facial injuries. He is expected to recover.
