MAN SERVED WARRANT FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Friday last week, Crossville police units were dispatched to an apartment on Millstream Lane in regards to Casey Hamby outside yelling and hitting the building.
Patrol officer Jacob Zimmerman made contact with Hamby and knew him from a previous experience. Police units told Hamby to stop yelling and go back inside, and Officer Zimmerman watched Hamby go back home.
However, shortly afterward, City units would receive another call from the same residence regarding the same issue. Upon arriving, Officer Zimmerman made contact with Hamby who stated “I didn’t hurt him”.
Officers Zimmerman asked Hamby what he meant, but didn’t answer the question. A neighbor approached the officer and said that Hamby had threatened him, making threats such as “I’m going to beat your ***”.
The neighbor was asked to stand by Zimmerman’s patrol car so he could get his statement after talking with Hamby.
However, Hamby refused to speak to the officer and was placed in custody. The officer went to the neighbor to get his statement, but the neighbor had since left.
Hamby was taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center where he was served with a warrant for disorderly conduct.
