On July 23, 2025, Officer Price of the Crossville Police Department was dispatched to contact the assistant manager at Penske’s rental department, regarding a stolen Penske box truck. The truck, a 2021 yellow International MV607 valued at $34,250, was rented by a man on June 17, 2025, for a period ending June 19, 2025, but was not returned.

Penske has been unable to contact Smith, and Officer Price’s attempts to reach him also failed. The vehicle, equipped with a tracker, was last detected moving around Lake Buford, GA. The case is classified as motor vehicle theft.

Although an individual has been named as a suspect, the report does not indicate whether charges have been filed, nor has an arrest been made.
