Last night, a Roane County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop an SUV on Roane State Highway at Pine Ridge Road after the driver ran a stop sign.

The motorist refused to stop and fled from law enforcement into Kingston.

The driver stopped after losing control on the 200 block of Paint Rock Ferry Road in Kingston.

All five occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

After a short search, with the assistance of the Kingston Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Corporal Michael Murphy deployed a drone with FLIR capabilities.

One of the suspects was located with the drone. Shortly after, the other four suspects were found.

Officers say they found seven grams of synthetic marijuana inside the vehicle.

The five arrested include:

William Daquan Battle of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, faces charges of simple possession of drugs, felony evading arrest, resisting arrest, criminal impersonation, filing a false report, being a fugitive from justice, and five counts of reckless endangerment. Battle is wanted in New York City for five counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a weapon, weapon violation, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Cristell Miller of Brooklyn, New York, Nathaniel Miller of Brooklyn, New York, La-Sun Noviers-Soto of Johnson City, New York, and Lymell Summerville of the Bronx, New York, are all charged with simple possession of drugs.

All five are awaiting arraignment in the Roane County jail. Each has no bond.
