MAN WITH A VAN HITS THE PUMPS AT BUC-EE’S

On Sunday, just after midnight, Crossville police units were dispatched to Buc-ee’s in regards to a man wrecking his vehicle and running away. Officer Jacob Ogle made contact with the manager at Buc-ee’s who showed the officer camera footage of a man driving a green van off of Genesis Road and into the ditch in front of the establishment.
The vehicle went over the ditch and traveled into the parking lot where it drove through gas pumps, which is when the driver jumped from the moving vehicle rolling on the ground. The vehicle would continue to drive into a concrete utility pole, the impact causing the van to travel backward back toward the gas pumps where it came to a stop.
The man jumped up from his position on the ground and ran into the doors located on Buc-ee’s west side. Due to the doors being locked, the man ran into the door, clashing with it and attempting to force the doors open.
After failing to open the doors, he ran from the scene and disappeared from the camera tore the Southwest of the building. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, a red and white striped shirt, blue jeans, and combat boots.
The officer was able to identify the man as Joseph Webster, the registered owner of the green van.
A few hours later at close to 3:00 a.m. an employee at the Speedway on Genesis Road would call in. According to them, the man from earlier was in the bathroom. Officer Ogle arrived on the scene and made contact with Webster, sitting at the store’s front. He was still wearing the same clothes from the wreck that had occurred earlier that night.
Webster was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and driving on a suspended license.
