MANIS SENTENCED TO PROBATION FOR SHOOTING AT HARRIMAN POLICE OFFICERS

A Roane County man was sentenced this week after pleading guilty to reckless endangerment and aggravated assault. The incident involving Nathan Manis took place in March 2016 when Harriman police officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at an apartment on North Roane Street. Manis shot at police as they approached. The officers returned fire, hitting Manis once. In court this week, Judge Jeff Wicks gave Manis five years on probation.
