MAN’S BROKEN DOWN CAR STOLEN OFF INTERSTATE 40

On Friday, a Cumberland County deputy took a phone call in reference to a stolen vehicle.

The victim stated he had left his 1997 rhino-lined black Toyota 4 Runner on the side of Interstate 40 Westbound at the 326-mile marker around 5 PM on 4/09/23 due to mechanical issues. When he returned a few days later to retrieve the vehicle, it was gone.

According to dispatch, the vehicle had no records of being towed. The victim stated that it could have been driven from the scene, despite the issues.

The estimate for the vehicle is $2,000.
