MAN’S ITEMS STOLEN AFTER CAR CRASH
On Saturday, Deputy Holden Atkinson responded to the front lobby of the Sheriff’s Office and spoke with two victims for a theft report. One of the two explained to the deputy that in November he had gotten into a car crash and his friend hauled his belongings to his home for safekeeping.
While the belongings were in his friend’s possession, they were stolen from the bed of his truck along with some of the victim’s belongings. The stolen items consist of a laptop, an impact drill, a toolset, and miscellaneous phones, lights, and headlights from the truck.
The victim said that he knows the male subject who stole the items and that he’s been in contact with him trying to get the items back. The victim also said the man who stole the items is refusing to return them and keeps giving the victim excuses as to why he can’t.
The deputy explained to the victim that if they could figure out an address for the suspect, a deputy would go to the residence and try to recover the items.
So far, no charges have been placed.
