MARQUIS ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON FIRST RESPONDERS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Cumberland County deputies responded this week to a vehicle accident on the 200 block of Dartmoor Drive in Fairfield Glade.

The incident report states officers arrived to see a Ram 1500 with the driver inside identified as 53-year-old Dawn Ann Marquis of Jamestown.

Deputies asked Marquis several times if she was injured. She repeatedly replied, “Telecommunications straight up.”

Officers allegedly smelled an odor of alcohol coming from Marquis.

She suddenly reached for a bag in the passenger side floorboard. An officer then reached for it thinking a weapon was inside the bag. Law enforcement secured the bag and discovered no weapon was in it.

When medics arrived, Marquis reportedly became upset and reached into her pocket. She allegedly revealed a metal window scraper with a razor blade inside. Authorities were able to disarm her.

Marquis was taken to jail and charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and two counts of aggravated assault on a first responder.
