Food City CEO Steve Smith announced today a mask mandate for shoppers will go into effect in stores Thursday, July 23, 2020. Smith said there will be employees at the front of the store asking people to follow the store mandate. There will also be hand sanitizing stations and signage in Food City stores. Smith added that they will have some disposable masks to hand out for those customers that don’t have one when they enter the store.

The announcement by Food City today joins a growing list of companies putting mask mandates into place next week including Walgreen’s, CVS, Walmart and Kroger.
