MASSIVE THEFT AT LANTANA CONSTRUCTION SITE

On Saturday, Deputy Dustin Jackson of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office responded to a location on Lantana Road for a theft report. Upon arriving, the deputy found the location to be a new construction project and met with the contractors, who are the owners of Jones Brothers Construction.

Both of them were working on a list of items stolen with several workers. All involved. Said they left the job site yesterday at around 5:00. P.m.. All of the stolen tools were locked inside an enclosed trailer, minus an air compressor that was left outside.

On the morning of the 8th, at around 7:00 a.m., the workers arrived at the job site and found the smaller air compressor gone as well as a larger one, which would have been locked in the trailer in its place.

While investigating, they found that the lock had been cut off of the trailer, as well as many stolen items.

Among the stolen items were:

  • A 16-in timber saw with 16-in blades valued at $3,000.
  • A worm drive skill saw valued at $750.
  • A table saw and stand valued at $700.
  • A large measure laser valued at $600.
  • Small measure lasers valued at $400.
  • Milwaukee impact tools valued at $600.
  • DeWalt impact tools valued at $1,350.
  • Another large impact tool valued at $350.
  • A predator 3500 w generator valued at $850.
  • An air compressor valued at $200.
  • Seven 1/4 in skill saws of various brands modeled at $600.
  • Air staplers valued at $500.
  • Six dewalt batteries and chargers valued at $900.
  • A large Makita hammer drill valued at $700.
  • And Milwaukee and DeWalt reciprocating saws and one battery valued at $700.

The deputy was unable to search for shoe or tire tread prints due to the area being contaminated with vehicle and foot traffic. There are currently no added suspects, although Deputy Jackie Howard and Deputy Ron Fields followed began searching the surrounding residential areas for suspects.

No charges have been filed as of yet.
