MAYOR FOSTER GIVES UPDATE ON CORONAVIRUS AND VACCINATIONS

Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster provided an update late yesterday on the status of COVID-19. He said the state department of health reported 9 active remaining cases in the county. That is the lowest figure since back in late March of 2020. There have been 140 deaths either from or by complications of the virus reported in Cumberland County since the start of the pandemic.

As of yesterday, the number of coronavirus vaccine shots administered was 43,306 including first and second doses. Mayor Foster added the number of citizens with at least one dose from any manufacturer was 23,131 or 38.2 percent and 21,614 or 35.7 percent is fully vaccinated. As of the last official count, Cumberland County has a population of 60,520.
