The Tennessee Highway Patrol and Cumberland County deputies went to the Crab Orchard exit on I-40 yesterday after a woman claimed she jumped out of a moving vehicle. Authorities say their investigation revealed 21-year-old Zaveia McKibbens of Crossville engaged in an altercation inside the automobile with a man and allegedly brandished a firearm at him before she got out. Law enforcement supposedly found two handguns in her possession. McKibbens allegedly struck a trooper after she attempted to run from law enforcement. She was charged with aggravated assault, assault on a first responder, resisting arrest and evading arrest.
