MEDICAL HELIPAD IN FENTRESS COUNTY UPGRADED
Crews in Fentress County recently spent two days improving and making repairs to the hospital helipad in Jamestown. The request for improvements came from the Federal Aviation Administration. Helicopters such as AirEvac and Lifestar use the pad to land and transport critical-care patients to regional hospitals. Officials say the helipad had not been upgraded in five years, the paint became faded and the helipad surface was cracked. Work crews were able to bring the helipad up to standards.
