The following events will take place Monday, May 31, 2021 on Memorial Day:

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A veteran recognition ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. central in Lowe’s parking lot in Crossville.

The Young Marines will hold a flag raising ceremony at the Fairfield Glade Community Center flagpole at 9 a.m. central. A Memorial Day service will be held later at 5:15 p.m. at the Grove Amphitheater.

Tim French is hosting a Hero’s Recognition Day from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. central at the National Guard Armory located at the corner of Highway 70 North and Sparta Highway. There will also be a photo and dog tag display of the 400 veterans and first responder hero’s that French walked in honor of.

The Elks will have free hot dog for veterans at the War Memorial Park on Main Street in downtown Crossville from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. central.

The American Legion Post 163 Crossville will hold a Memorial Day observance at 11:30 a.m. central at the post at 1446 South Main Street.

The VFW 75th Anniversary Open House will take place from 1 until 3 p.m. central in Crossville. It is open to all veterans and their spouses.

ROANE COUNTY

A Memorial Day observance will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Kingston at 10 a.m. eastern time.  Kingston American Legion Post #110 will be in charge and the Roane County Military Honor Guard will participate.

A Memorial Day service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood at 11 a.m. eastern.  American Legion Post #50 will be in charge and the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard will be participating.
