A Celebration of Life Gathering for Michael Cox, age 52, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Michael was born on Sunday, January 13, 1974, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to Sue Lusk Cox of Monterey, Tennessee, and to the late Larry F. Cox. He passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Michael had a big heart. He loved his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren.

He was lovingly known as “Papa” and was looking forward to the birth of his granddaughter Millie due any day. He was a graduate of Monterey High School Class of 1992. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kaylee and Spencer Powell of Monterey, TN; grandchildren, Ezerah, Jameson, Addie, and due any day, Millie; sister, Leigh Flatt of Monterey, TN; and nephew, Canaan Flatt of Monterey, TN. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his best friend, Dee Dee Harville.
