MILLER CHARGED FOR CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION, ASSAULT AND RESISTING ARREST

Saturday night, Cumberland County deputies went to a home on the 400 block of Sandy Creek Road to investigate the possible sale of illegal narcotics. There they met up with 31-year-old Joseph Oren Miller, who identified himself as Matthew Patterson; while deputies attempted to detain him, Miller repeatedly resisted arrest, striking one deputy in the head and biting another on the hand. It took three deputies to subdue and arrest Miller, who was later found to have an outstanding warrant from another county. Miller was arrested for criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and assault. He was placed under $25,000 bond and is due in court March 4.
