MILLER HELD ON 1.5 MILLION DOLLAR BOND IN DEATH OF MOTORCYCLIST ON I-40 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has charged 45 year old Daniel Lee Miller of Harriman with Vehicular Homicide in the death of a motorcyclist last week in Cumberland County.
Miller allegedly entered the east bound lane of Interstate 40 heading west at an unknown point. When he reached the 336.8 mile marker of the interstate, he struck 61 year old Helene McGarvey, of Andersonville, Tennessee who was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson Motorcycle head on, killing her instantly.
The Interstate was closed for approximately 6 hours while authorities processed the accident scene.
Miller is being held in the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of a $1,500,000 bond with a preliminary court date set for July 8th, 2024.
