MILLER PLEADS GUILTY TO VEHICULAR HOMICIDE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Court officials say 47-year-old Daniel Lee Miller of Roane County entered a plea of guilty in Cumberland County Criminal Court to vehicular homicide by intoxication.
The judge sentenced Miller to 9 years in prison to be served at 100 percent. He was also stripped of his driving privileges for a decade.
The indictment against Miller states he drove a Ford F150 truck onto I-40 around the Westel area in June 2024, heading east in a westbound lane. He collided head-on with an oncoming motorcyclist, 61-year-old Helene McGarvey of Andersonville, Tennessee. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers say Miller was under the influence at the time of the crash.
