MOCK RESCUE EXERCISE CONDUCTED AT FALL CREEK FALLS

From Beldsoe County Emergency Management:

In collaboration with VanBuren EMA, Fall Creek Falls State Park, TEMA, and TN-HART (Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team), we attended and observed a mock rescue exercise yesterday where TN-HART simulated rescues from Falls Creek Falls and Cane Creek Falls, inside the Park. Due to prior issues with the air craft, the actual mock hoist rescue portion of the exercise was unable to be conducted, however the Black Hawk was able to practice accessing the areas.

This exercise gave a demonstration of TN-HART’s capabilities if they ever need to be called upon for a real life event. Bledsoe County departments mutual aid with VanBuren County departments for these kind of rescues, especially involving the rigorous Cable Trail.
A huge thanks to TN-HART for coming out and showing the capabilities. Several responders from Bledsoe County, Van Buren County, Sequatchie County, and TEMA came to observe.
