On Thursday, December 11, 2025, members of the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Sweetwater Police Department, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an investigation that led to a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by Margarette Brooks and Tyrone Fitz.

During the traffic stop investigators located methamphetamine inside the vehicle. It was also determined that Tyrone Fitz had an active felony warrant out of Knox County. Following the traffic stop, a search was conducted at the couple’s residences in McMinn County which resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine-more than 60 grams total-along with a small amount of heroin.

Both individuals were arrested in connection with this incident.

We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and coordination between agencies involved in this investigation. Partnerships like these are critical in keeping dangerous drugs out of our communities and taking drug dealers off the streets.
