PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – on June 26th, 2024, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible inappropriate relationship between a minor and an adult, who is the owner and manager of the Convenience Mart located at 804 S. Holly St in Monterey, TN. Detectives immediately began to investigate and not long into the investigation, it was discovered that over approximately 3 months, Ankitkumar Patel was having inappropriate contact with a minor and engaged in sexual relationships with a minor in the workplace (Convenience Mart).

On August 16th, 2024, Patel admitted to detectives during an interview that the incident that was being investigated was, in fact, true and that it did occur at the workplace with an underage employee.

Ankitkumar Patel was arrested for aggravated statutory rape, solicitation of a minor, and aggravated sexual battery by an authority figure and was given a 110,000 Bond. Patel’s court date is set for September 23rd, 2024.
