MONTEREY BEER BOARD TO DISCIPLINE STORE FOR SELLING ALCOHOL TO MINORS

A Monterey convenience store owner will go before the city’s Beer Board next week after being accused of selling alcohol to minors. Mayor Bill Wiggins says that Carl’s Super Market on N. Chestnut St. sold alcohol to minors during a police operation last month. It will be the first disciplinary hearing to take place since the town voted in beer sales in 2016. The board will also look at issuing a permit for Tom’s Market to sell beer. The meeting will take place Monday, Jan. 7 at 6:30 PM at City Hall.
