A 21-year-old man, Austin Sigh of Monterey, drowned in Tennessee while helping load a boat onto a trailer. The incident occurred around 4:00 PM in water with a temperature of 66°F.

His body was recovered in less than 10 feet of water and taken to the Meigs County Coroner’s Office.

This marks the fifth fatality of 2025, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
