MONTEREY P.D. LAUNCHES SAFETY INITIATIVE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

The Monterey Police Department has launched M-C.A.R.D. (Monterey Community At-Risk Database), a free, confidential initiative to enhance safety for individuals with dementia, autism, and other intellectual/developmental disabilities. Caregivers can enroll loved ones by providing key information like communication preferences, triggers, calming techniques, and medical needs.
This equips first responders with critical data to respond compassionately and effectively during emergencies, reducing bias and promoting life-saving care. Enrollment is open to Monterey, TN residents via a quick questionnaire at https://sites.google.com/view/mpd-mcard/.
