The driver, who was later identified as Phillip J. Moore, quickly fled and attempted to ram one of the deputy’s vehicles before ultimately crashing his vehicle on Jack Lewis Road.
Deputies, aided by the Baxter Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol, began a search in the nearby woods where Moore had fled after crashing his vehicle.
A K-9 officer tracked Moore where he was hiding in the woods.
