MORE CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFTS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Cumberland County deputies were dispatched to Aviagen Maintenance off Tennessee Outdoors Drive for theft. The complainant told deputies that over the weekend, unknown subjects had cut the catalytic converters off of six of their vehicles, totaling 8 converters. The estimated value of the converters plus damage to the radiator was approximately $5,800.

When investigating the scene, they found a warped saw blade with faded blue paint that was located under one of the vehicles. An orange Mossy Oak ball cap (pictured below) was located near the vehicles as well as multiple boot prints believed to be the suspects.

Video footage of the incident is pending review.

Deputies were also dispatched to A1 Storage, off Peavine Road for a report of a catalytic converter cut off an RV. While investigating, it was revealed two other subjects had their converters cut off of their RVs.

These cases are under investigation.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook Friday morning, “There have been several Catalytic Converter thefts recently from businesses and storage facilities. The target seems to be RVs, and box truck vehicles. The ball cap was dropped during a recent converter theft, any information contact Inv. Bobby Moore or Inv. Gary Green.”
