MORE DETAILS ON ROCKWOOD GOLF COURSE CRASH

On Wednesday afternoon, a Rockwood police officer attempted to stop a gray Nissan driven by 36-year-old Chasity Hope Galyon on North Kingston Avenue after it ran a stop sign and displayed an expired registration tag. The vehicle fled eastbound on Highway 70, entered the grass area near the Rockwood golf course, spun around, and attempted to head westbound before crashing into a guardrail.
A search of the vehicle revealed illegal narcotics. Galyon was arrested and faces 13 charges: two counts each of reckless endangerment, evading arrest, manufacturing/delivery/sale/possession of Schedule IV drugs, simple possession or casual exchange, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, lack of vehicle insurance, and violation of registration; plus one count each of driving on a revoked license, resisting arrest, and obstructing service of process.
She remains in jail on bonds totaling $29,500. The Tennessee Highway Patrol handled the accident report to avoid a conflict of interest, as the crash involved damage to Rockwood property.
