MORE DETAILS ON SUNDAY’S PEDESTRIAN FATALITY IN ROCKWOOD

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol offers more details regarding last Sunday night’s pedestrian who was struck and killed on Highway 70 east of Rockwood. According to the report, 44-year-old Timothy S. Slaven from Rockwood was struck and killed after, according to the report, walking into the roadway in front of a 2000 Chevy Blazer driven by David Redwine (42) of Rockwood.

The report indicates Slaven was walking along Roane State Highway and attempting to cross the road when the vehicle struck and killed him at the scene.

Two passengers in the vehicle with Redwine were identified as 38-year-old Bethany Redwine and a 10-year-old child.

None of the occupants of the car were injured. No charges were filed in the report as the accident allegedly was unavoidable.

Slaven was noted to have been admitted to the Roane Medical Center earlier getting treatment in the emergency room after being taken there earlier that same Sunday morning before allegedly walking back to Rockwood when the accident occurred.
