MORGAN COUNTY JUDGE MIKE DAVIS STEPS DOWN

WARTBURG, Tenn. — Longtime Morgan County General Sessions Court Judge Mike Davis is stepping down after 27 years on the bench to take a new position with the 9th Judicial District Attorney General’s Office, according to a report by The Roane County News. Davis’s last day as judge will be May 23rd, and he will begin in the DA’s office on June 2nd.
Davis’ resignation marks the end of a distinguished career in the Morgan County judicial system. He will now bring his decades of judicial experience to the prosecutorial side of the law.
“Mike Davis will bring the unique perspective of being a judge, which will benefit our team and how we evaluate and handle cases,” said 9th Judicial District Attorney General Russell Johnson. “His insight will be a valuable asset to our office.”
Davis’ term as General Sessions Judge was set to run through 2026. The Morgan County Commission will now be responsible for appointing a replacement to serve the remainder of his term.
