MORGAN COUNTY SCHOOLS ANNOUNCES NEW CAREER AND TECH CENTER DIRECTOR

Morgan County Schools is excited to announce Keith Shannon as the new Director of the Morgan County Career and Technical Center. Mr. Shannon is a Sunbright High School and Tennessee Technological University Graduate. He started his teaching career at Sunbright School in 1995. In his 30-year education career he has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal. The last six years he has served as the Director of CTE, Maintenance, and Textbooks for Scott County Schools.
When asked about starting as the new Director for the Morgan County Career and Technical Center Mr. Shannon said, “I am very excited to accept the position of CTE Director for the Morgan County School District. I look forward to working with Morgan County students, our CTE faculty and staff, the Morgan County Director of Schools Jamie Pemberton, the Morgan County district administrative team, and Morgan County School Board. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the outstanding work of the Morgan County School’s Career Technical Education Programs. Morgan County CTE programs are known for outstanding quality and we will work to continue the standards of excellence. I am especially appreciative of the work of the outgoing CTE Director. Dr. Dan Shoemaker has been a mentor to me as a CTE Director. Dr. Shoemaker has always been very helpful and knowledgeable about all things CTE and administrative. He has earned the respect of his peers throughout the East TN CTE Core Region. I look forward to continuing the work Dr. Shoemaker started as I work with the leadership of the Morgan County Schools.”
Mr. Shannon will begin his new role on July 1, 2025.
