MORGAN SHERIFF’S OFFICE MOURNS NATIVE SON AND FALLEN HERO DEPUTY DERRICK BONHAM
Posted by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office:
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Rick Hamby extend our deepest condolences to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office and the family of Deputy Derrick Bonham following his tragic murder early this morning while responding to an emergency call in a West Tennessee town.
Deputy Bonham was a devoted husband, the proud father of three children, and a dedicated public servant. He was also a Morgan County native—an outstanding son, father, husband, and friend—whose roots and legacy are woven into our community.
This loss is not distant for us; it strikes close to home and is felt profoundly by our law enforcement family and the citizens of Morgan County. Deputy Bonham served with honor, courage, and selflessness, answering the call to protect others even at the cost of his own life. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.
We stand united in prayer and support for the Bonham family, the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office, and all who loved and served alongside Deputy Bonham. We ask our community to lift this family up in specific and continued prayer during this incredibly difficult time.
May God grant comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead.
