MORSE, CRUZ AND ARNOLD ARRAIGNED IN COURT FOR FIRST-DEGREE MURDERS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Arraignments were held in Cumberland County Criminal Court this morning for three suspects charged with first-degree murder in different cases.

Court documents state 20-year-old Robert David Morse stands accused of the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Matthew Musser at a home on September 26, 2020. Musser passed away from multiple gunshot wounds. In court today, the next court date for Morse was set for March 15, 2021. As of this afternoon, Morse remains in jail under a $4 million bond.

The second involves 33-year-old Rony Noe Ambrocio Cruz. His wife, Sante Ceciliar Mendez, was found deceased in a wooded area near Village Lane in August 2020. Officers later reportedly found evidence Cruz was allegedly responsible for her death. Cruz will appear again in court March 15, 2021. Cruz remains in the Cumberland County jail as of today under a $250,000 bond.

Thomas Mack Arnold, Sr., age 38, is charged with the fatal shooting of 63-year-old Billy Ray Jones at a residence on Christian Road on September 27, 2020. Arnold fled the scene and was stopped before sunrise the next day in south Georgia. He was extradited back to Cumberland County. Arnold was given his next court date today of February 22, 2021. Arnold is in jail under a $2 million bond.

All three were indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury Monday, January 11, 2021.
